Army officers 7th pay commission pay scales

Lieutenant pay scale

Presently Lieutenant of Indian Army is kept in the pay scale of 15600 - 39100. Apart from pay scale, Lieutenant gets grade pay of 5400 rupees and 6000 rupees as MSP.

In the 7th pay commission pay scale of Lieutenant is expected to be 40000 - 100000. Similarly grade pay of a Lieutenant of Indian Army is expected to be fixed as 13500 rupees and Military Service pay is expected to be around 15000 rupees.

Captain pay scale

6th pay commission pay scale of Captain of Indian Army is 15600 - 39100 rupees. Captain gets 6100 rupees as grade pay and 6000 rupees as MSP.

A Captain of Army is expected to get 40000 - 100000 rupees pay scale in the 7th pay commission. Also grade pay of Captain may be fixed as 16000 rupees and MSP may be fixed at 15000 rupees.

Expected 7th pay commission pay scale of Major

Pay scale of a Major of Indian Army as per the 6th pay commission is 15600 - 39100 rupees. Experts are expecting that a Major may get 40000 - 100000 rupees pay scale in the 7th pay commission.

Presently Major gets 6600 rupees as grade pay and 6000 rupees as MSP. After implementation of 7th pay commission a Major is expected to draw 18000 rupees as grade pay and 15000 as MSP.

Lieutenant Colonel pay scale

A Lieutenant Colonel of Army falls under Pay Band 4 and gets 37400 - 67000 rupees as pay scale. It is expected that a Lieutenant Colonel will get his pay scale fixed in the pay band of 95000 - 170000 rupees in the seventh pay commission. Additionally a Lieutenant Colonel of Indian Army gets 8000 rupees as grade pay and 6000 rupees as MSP. In the seventh pay commission, Lieutenant Colonels may get a hefty 21000 rupees as grade pay and 15000 rupees as MSP.

Colonel 7th pay commission pay scale

A Colonel of Army gets 8700 rupees as grade pay and 6000 rupees as MSP along with pay band of 37400 - 67000.

In the 7th pay commission pay of Colonel may be revised as 95000 - 160000 rupees pay scale, 24000 grade pay and 15000 rupees MSP.

Brigadier pay

An Brigadier of Indian Army presently placed in pay scale of 37400 - 67000. Grade pay of an Brigadier is 8900 and MSP is 6000 rupees.

Pay scale of an Brigadier rank officer may be revised to 95000 - 160000 rupees. Also grade pay might be fixed as 25000 rupees. Military Service Pay may be fixed as 15000 rupees.

Major General

An Major General of Army is also placed in pay band 4 in the sixth pay commission. He draws pay scale of 37400 - 67000 rupees. Grade pay of 10000 rupees is admissible for an Major General. There is no MSP given to AVM of Indian Army.

In the upcoming seventh pay commission an AVM may be placed in the pay band of 95000 - 160000 rupees. Grade pay of an AVM is likely to be fixed as 30000 rupees. MSP may not be provided to Major Generals.

Lieutenant General pay scales

There are three pay scales fixed for Lieutenant Generals of Indian Army. Lieutenant General with HAG scale has been placed in the pay band of 67000 - 79000. In the next pay commission this pay band may get revised to 160000 - 200000. An Lieutenant General does not get any grade pay or MSP.

Lieutenant Generals with HAG + scale are placed under pay scale of 75500 - 80000. Pay scale may get revised to 180000 - 210000.

Apex scale Lieutenant General gets fixed pay scale as 80000 rupees. In the seventh pay commission pay scale of Apex scale Lieutenant General may get fixed to 220000 rupees.

General and Field Marshal of Indian Army pay scale

At present the General and Field Marshal of Indian Army gets 90000 basic pay. Basic pay is expected to be revised to 250000 rupees per month in the next pay commission.­­­­
